Norwich Science Festival Returns in February 2023!

Norwich Science Festival returns Saturday 11 - Saturday 18 February 2023.

Presented by The Forum, Norwich Science Festival combines cutting-edge research with fantastic events; revealing the fascinating science of the world around us.

From the inspiring to the educational, the experimental to the insightful, the 2023 programme of events promises family-friendly activities—creating the perfect attraction for half-term—as well as plenty for adults too.

Natalie Bailey, Science Festival Producer says ‘We are very excited about working with our many partners, including University of East Anglia (UEA) and Norwich Research Park, to bring the Festival back at a new time of year, with a full in-person series of events.’

‘The full programme will be announced later this year, but in the meantime science fans won’t have to wait until February for their science fix as a special event is planned this Summer with The Bugs & Beasts Weekend.’

The Bugs & Beasts Weekend takes place on 23-24 July at Waterloo Park in Norwich. This free event, sponsored by Pensthorpe Natural Park will take place 11am-4pm Saturday and Sunday, and attractions include street theatre, face-painting, crafting activities, and a guest appearance from CBeebies star, vet and author Jess French! 

As the 2023 programme takes shape, scientists, innovators, creatives, and performers are encouraged to apply to be part of Norwich Science Festival. More details of the open submission process can be found on norwichsciencefestival.co.uk, with opportunities ranging from presenting research to performing experiments, all in front of a live and engaged audience. 

Norwich Science Festival 2023 also brings the return of the dedicated Learning Programme for schools, youth groups and home-educated learners. Taking place from 16 January –  3 February 2023, the Learning Programme inspires and educates young people on the wonder of science, helping them to develop STEM (science, technology, engineering, maths) skills as well as opening opportunities. In 2021 Norwich Science Festival received more than 67,000 visits, and included events with popular YouTuber Maddie Moate, comedian Robin Ince, rocket-building workshops, lectures on artificial intelligence, data, climate change, and much much more.
