Past, Present & Future: A Special Exhibition

See The Forum Atrium transformed with this special exhibition, created to mark the 250th Anniversary of the Norfolk & Norwich Hospital. Be transported through time from when the hospital saw its first patients in 1772 to the present day. Wander through history and find out more about some of the instrumental people behind the hospital including Benjamin Gooch and William Fellowes.

See a pristine display of nurses uniforms through the decades and never seen before artifacts including an old x-ray machine, an 1800s operating table and physio gym exercise bike and anaesthetic machines from 1920-1950. Be fascinated by the Cabinet of Curiosities, revealing the first ever hip replacement by Ken McKee and a multitude of wonderous medical objects.

Explore the exhibition and learn how you can get involved and support the work of the hospital and its community, while discovering how the hospital plans to deliver care to the people of Norfolk over the next five years, from transforming services, improving care for patients, developing research and education and ensuring that it is a great place to work.

Alongside the exhibition, a series of talks will take place, given by nurses, doctors, and academics; sharing a fascinating insight into the evolution of medicine, including the history of the Jenny Lind Hospital, and orthopaedic innovation within nursing. The talks are prebook only.
