Discover why Norwich was famous for it's textile industry!

Did you know what Norwich was once world famous for its textiles and Queen Victoria had five of the luxurious Norwich shawls? This talk by Vanessa Trevelyan looks at many of the buildings and sites in Norwich associated with textiles trade and manufacture, and takes you through the glory years of the 18th and first half of the 19th century to the final demise of the industry in the early 20th century. Vanessa Trevelyan was director of the Norfolk Museum Service, which has nationally important textiles collections, and is now the President of the Norfolk Costume & Textiles Association.
