We are so fortunate today to have the NHS - however much under pressure. But what happened when you were sick or old in the past?

This presentation, by Vanessa Trevelyan, looks at how sickness was dealt with in the past and some of the key buildings in which treatment took place, many of which are a much-loved part of our built heritage but may well have changed functions over the years.

Vanessa Trevelyan is a past Chair of the Norwich Society and currently chairs its Events Group. She was previously Director of the Norfolk Museums Service and started her love affair with Norwich when a student at UEA in the early 1970s.
