Simon Kindleysides a father-of-three became the first paralysed man to walk and complete the London Marathon independently in a robotic walking suit in 2018.
He woke up one morning in 2013 and could not feel his legs. Simon was diagnosed with a brain tumour and his life changed forever. After 12 months of heartache and struggle, with a belly full of determination Simon grabbed life with both hands and he began setting himself challenges to show there are no limits to what you can achieve. All this is balanced with his own fight with mental health and post traumatic stress disorder, and the knowledge that his health and life are constantly on a knife edge. Through determination, grit and sheer bloody-mindedness Simon continues to test his resilience and push the boundaries.
Now he wants to help others and share their experiences of overcoming their own life changing challenges and adversity and portray how amazing people can be.
This premier of the first episode forms the start of a larger project to meet and document the stories of other people who are trying to or have overcome adversity and tell stories that should be heard. Alongside these stories the series will also follow Simon on his quest to try new challenges and become an inspiration to others.
