Presented by Norwich’s leading colleges and universities, visitors are invited to get hands-on with in-development games projects and learn about the routes into the games industry through programming, design and esports courses.

With titles curated by local game publisher Wave Game Studios, experience up-and-coming games in development and meet their creators, as well as enjoy completed projects now on the market.
Making a great game isn’t the only challenge! Understanding the structure of the industry and the real-world game development process from concept to retail is critical for a successful project. OLL XP offers the opportunity to quiz those in the industry and see real-world examples of how products are brought to market.

Brought to you by Norwich Retro Gamers and the Norwich Amiga Group, play across 30+ stations featuring consoles ranging from the 70’s to 00’s. Expect to see some rare machinery on display, as well as all the classic favourites!
Alongside hundreds of games available for visitors to play, staff will be demonstrating repairs, modifications and advising on how you can enjoy the best of the retro gaming scene with today’s current technology.

The console arcade is a classic element of Norwich Games Festival events, and 2023 will be no different! Simply come and play across any of the 30+ consoles on offer, with hundreds of games available!
Whether you’re a fan of classic NES titles, or perhaps you were a 90’s Sega kid, there’ll be something here for everyone. Modern consoles will be available too of course, as well as everything in between! Try out the various hi-score challenges!

For all the budding content creators out there! This entry-level class is designed for those who are seeking to gain an understanding of live streaming and content creation.
This 1-hour class will cover the essentials to enable creators to learn the best practices to produce high-quality broadcasts and video content.
- Content types: gameplay, reviews, game guides, video podcasts
- Introduction to OBS/Streamlabs streaming software
- Layering gameplay and on-screen overlays
- Audio and microphones
- Cameras and layouts
- Trackers, donations and analytics
- Titles, tags and engagement best practice
These classes are designed for under 16’s. Under 12’s must be accompanied by a parent or supervisor.

With competitive play being one of the cornerstones of the modern gaming industry, it wouldn’t be a gaming event without a big tournament!
Taking place on Sunday 26th February and hosted by Albion Games, a 48-person Super Smash Bros tournament will be held in the Auditorium and downstairs areas.
