Discover, explore and enjoy – Heritage Open Days festival returns in September

Annual festival of people, places and community is open for registrations.

Heritage Open Days will return to Norfolk in September. The popular annual festival coordinated by The Forum Trust, Norwich sees venues across Norfolk opening their doors, allowing visitors the chance to explore the county’s rich heritage for free.

Running 9-18 September 2022 the festival offers everyone the opportunity to explore new buildings, discover some hidden gems not normally open to the public and learn more about the cultural heritage in our communities.

The theme for this year’s festival is ‘Astounding Inventions’ celebrating England's rich history of invention, industry and innovation.

"Heritage Open Days is always hugely popular and celebrating our local heritage continues to be more than important than ever.

We’re working with local heritage organisations, businesses and voluntary groups to create the programme and would be thrilled to see new venues and community groups take part this year." Katie Ellis, Norfolk Heritage Open Days Event Producer

Venues and organisers interested in taking part can register their interest by emailing [email protected] or visiting heritageopendays.org.uk/organising/how-to-get-involved

The Norfolk Heritage Open Days programme is coordinated and promoted by The Forum Trust with support from Norwich City Council, Broadland District Council, Breckland Council, Thetford Town Council, Great Yarmouth Borough Council, South Norfolk Council, North Norfolk District Council, Visit North Norfolk and many local organisations and individuals.
