Changing Places Coming Soon!

Wide shot of The Forum at dusk
2022, 2023

We're upgrading our toilets & installing a brand new Changing Places facility.

We'll be starting work in January 2023, and installing a state-of-the-art Changing Places Toilet, as well as upgrading all of our facilities.

We're thankful to have received government funding for the Changing Places facility, thanks to a successful bid by Norwich City Council. By installing a Changing Places Toilet, we'll be making our building even more accessible.

Whilst we're renovating, our toilets will be closed. There will be a limited number of temporary toilets available outside the building. Please bear with us as we improve the building - this is essential work.

During the refurbishment, we recommend considering using other facilities, including the public toilets at Norwich Market. Please note that for a very brief period at the start of the year, from Tuesday 3 January to Friday 6 January, our customer toilets are unavailable.

Teresa Wood, Head of Estates at The Forum, said: “We’re very happy to have received funding for Changing Places facility, so we can offer vital provision to those living with disabilities.

“Our state-of-the-art Changing Places Toilet will be installed in the new year, alongside an upgrade to our existing facilities.

“The Forum is here for everybody and by installing new accessible spaces we’re able to welcome more people into our building.”

The installation of the new Changing Places Toilet, and the upgrade work will be carried out by local contractor Ovamill, starting on 3 January.

About Changing Places Toilets

Across the country more than 250,000 severely disabled people do not have access to toilet facilities which meet their needs. Unlike standard accessible toilets, Changing Places Toilets (CPTs) have an adult changing bench and hoist facilities as well as extra space for carers.
