Explore the stories of women in WWII Norfolk. Through photographs, letters, uniforms, and personal accounts, this exhibition tour highlights the resilience, skill, and spirit of the women who helped shape wartime life in Norfolk. 

Led by the curation team and young participants, this bookable 20 minute tour offers extra insight into the stories behind the Silver Wings: The US Army Air Forces in WWII Norfolk exhibition.

About Silver Wings

From jitterbug dancing and donuts to first-hand accounts of service and sacrifice, Silver Wings celebrates the memories that shaped Norfolk during WWII, and the legacy that still echoes today.

Join us for a free, ten-day exhibition and event series at The Forum, Fri 12-Sun 21 September 2025, presented as part of Norfolk Heritage Open Days.

Silver Wings is presented by The Forum in partnership with the American Library, Memorial to the 2nd Air Division, 8th Air Force, United States Army Air Forces.
