A wonderful opportunity to see behind the scenes of this Millennium building, including the Millennium Library Stacks Room. The tour will provide an insight to the building's operations and history.
Built on the site of the old Norwich Central Library which was devastated by fire in 1994, destroying many books and precious documents and forcing its closure, The Forum is one of the most successful Millennium Projects in the UK. It opened in November 2001 and has become an iconic landmark and meeting place in the historic centre of Norwich.
A public building – people can visit seven days a week all year round - and the eclectic mix of free exhibitions, events, activities, catering, shopping and learning opportunities makes the Forum many things to many people.
As part of Heritage Open Days, tour members will be guided around rarely-seen areas of the Millennium building, including the Auditorium, boiler rooms and Millennium Library Stacks Room, providing an insight to the building's history and operations.
